Lexus RX400
First introduced in January 2004 Lexus RX 400h became the first luxury hybrid. The Lexus RX 400h made its U.S. sales debut in mid-2005, with over 9,000 pre-orders at launch. Fisker Karma
Fisker unveiled a hardtop-convertible two-door variation on the Karma. Fisker Karma puts two 201 horsepower electric motors at each rear wheel, which get power from a lithium ion battery pack with enough capacity to drive the car for 50 miles. When more range is needed, a Ford-sourced turbocharged 2-liter direct injection EcoTec kicks in, turning a generator, giving the car 250 more miles. Specs for the production Karma say it will go to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds--fast, but not blistering--while the top speed reaches 125 mph when both the electric motors and gas engine are working.
Mercedes GLK
The Mercedes Benz GLK is a compact crossover based on the C-Class, and with it an all-new four-cylinder Bluetec diesel engine. The combination of this style with that engine makes for a wicked little 'Ute, one that offers up looks, convenience and performance in its class. Mercedes GLK powered by a 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 engine, mated to the automaker's seven-speed automatic transmission and featuring their 4MATIC all-wheel-drive. GLK performance pegged at 204 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft of torque.
