2011 Honda Jazz Hybrid

The 2011 Honda Jazz Hybrid is set to debut at the Paris Auto Show in in September and should arrive in dealers lots early 2011. The Jazz Hybrid (known as the Honda Fit in Japan and the US) is undergoing a 2011 update and is set to receive the hybrid engine just as the Fit did in Japan.

It's expected to get similar gas mileage as the Insight, since it has the same underpinning as the Insight. The IMA Hybrid system is the same as the Honda Civic Hybrid and Insight, which means the micro-car can travel for short distances on all electric power, while the electric motor assists the gas engine in other situations. A start-stop system will turn the gas engine off when you are coming to a stop.

The 1.3 liter four-cylinder gas engine is mated to a CVT gearbox with the electric motor matched on. The 2011 Hybrid Jazz will have a few distinctive features, including a new grill, blue tinted headlights, a 'tweaked' bumper and clear taillight lenses. The Honda Fit is the cheapest hybrid available, and the Jazz is expected to follow suit when it goes on sale in Europe.

The new model will feature the same engine as the Insight hybrid, the 1.3 litre i-VTEC engine is combined with a CVT gearbox with an electric motor sandwiched between the two to create a parallel hybrid system. Like the Insight and Civic Hybrid models the Honda Jazz Hybrid will be capable of running on the electric motor alone under some medium and low speed conditions.

Much of the Honda Jazz's practicality is derived from its height but despite being taller than the Insight, the Jazz Hybrid manages to maintain fuel consumption and CO2 emissions on comparable levels.

Visually the Honda Jazz Hybrid is distinguished from the current Jazz range with revised headlights, with a blue surround, clear rear lights, new front grille, restyled bumpers and a chrome tailgate garnish. The new hybrid will also be available in a range of existing colours plus a bespoke Lime Green metallic.

Inside the cabin is also given a fresh look with darker single colour dashboard, which contrasts strongly with the blue lighting of the dials and stereo. The new hybrid is also available with leather trim, the first time this has been available on a Jazz model in Europe. The Honda Jazz Hybrid will go on sale in some European markets in the early part of 2011.

Honda released the 2011 Honda CR-Z, who claimed to be born again (reborn) 1983-92 Civic CRX. This car will be marketed in Japan next February 2010 and then will be marketed in the United States (U.S.) a few months next. Compact car with a 161-inch was never presented at TMS 2007. After two years of development by Honda, the car will be shown in the TMS 2009 is claimed to ‘95 percent ‘for mass-produced. Honda CR-Z production of the final version will be displayed at 2010 Detroit Motor Show next January 2010. CR-Z will carry the 1.5L engine i-VTEC inline-4 is combined with IMA hybrid powertrain technology with six-speed manual transmission gearbox. CR-Z will be equipped with Ni-Mh battery as owned by the Honda Insight. Honda plans to stick like a hybrid engine that carried Insight. Skydeck has three rows of seats are super slim and sliding doors are also similar to the Honda Freed. High Skydeck has seen 182 inches shorter than the Honda Odyssey version of the United States (U.S.) and axle distance to 114 inches longer than the Honda Accord.

Fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission and sport-tuned suspension, the upcoming CR-Z certainly will be engaging for the driver, the first hybrid sports coupe on the market. Although the car on display at Tokyo has a tiny back seat, the production CR-Z (which makes its worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January) is a sporty 2-seater, one with the added practicality of a hatchback.

Conveying its fun-to-drive nature, the CR-Z boasts a bold grille, slit openings for the headlamps and strong character lines that give this Honda an aggressive, angular look. It’s taller and less rounded that the original concept, making it much more practical and ready for production. One styling cue that connects the CR-Z to the highly entertaining original CR-X is the shape of the rear quarter glass. Beneath the hood, the front-wheel-drive CR-Z is powered by a stronger version of the Insight’s 1.5-liter 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain.

Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist works like an electric supercharger, effectively boosting both off-the-line response and fuel economy.

The CR-Z concept’s interior features more glitz than the production model will, but the layout will remain the same, with the main instrument bezel positioned behind a 3-spoke steering wheel flanked by pods for the auxiliary controls. With the CR-Z — which goes into production at Honda’s Suzuka factory in February — it appears that we will now be able to mix a healthy dose driving fun with environmental consciousness.

We’re glad Honda is acknowledging the importance of the CR-X, but hope that it isn’t following in the footsteps of the Big Three, when hallowed names like Chevy Nova, Pontiac LeMans and Plymouth Duster were slapped onto 80s compacts with little resemblance to the original. It would be sad if Honda acknowledged its past only to mine it for marketing.
